R: Peng defeated Hingis and Mauresmo. She showed her aggressiveness and consistency in those two matches. Could you please tell us your secret of defeating her today?
S: I started to play aggressively in the beginning and tried to lead the rally. It worked today.
R: Your game has been improving since New Haven. Is there any secret for that?
S: I don’t have any secrets. My improvement was from last year. I was sick at the beginning of last year. I got to play well since last September and reached Top 300. I think I’m playing well step by step.
R: If you can win the match tomorrow, you will reach Top 20 in the world. If you achieve this goal, what is your next?
S: Of course Top 10. I will try my best and we will see. I know to be Top 10 is hard. It’s a big job between Top 10 and Top 20.
R: You just said you made your progress step by step. Do you think your good result in US Open is a breakthrough in your career?
S: The success in US Open means I don’t have to play qualifying matches any more. It’s tough to play qualifying matches in the tournaments.
R: You won this match 6:1 6:2, do you think that you controlled the whole match? Please comment on Peng’s performance today.
S: If you only see the score you will think it was easy. But it was really a tough match. I’m happy that I made it.
R: It’s your first time you reached into quarter-finals in US Open. Do you feel any differences between Grand Slams and the normal tournaments?
S: I played in the Grand Slams before US Open this year only in the qualifying matches. The difference is that people may more attention on the Grand Slams. Currently more tournaments like China Open are being paid attention because the players are great and it shows high levels.
R: You lost to Peng twice before. Today you defeated her. Please talk about that.
S: I remember two years ago it was my first ITF junior match here in Beijing when I played against her. We can’t compare the last two matches with today’s match. We both have improved a lot.
R: Please comment on Jankovic, your opponent in tomorrow’s match.
S: I never play against her. I will definitely try my best and we will see tomorrow.
R: You are the only player who is in Top 100 in your country. Are you a big star in Hungary?
S: There are other girls who have been in Top 100 in Hungary. I hope that more players will reach there. Any way it’s good to be No.1 in my country.
R: Will you come to Beijing for OG next year?
S: I will definitely come back and that’s the one of the reasons I come here this year to be prepared. I like to play here.
