China Open player party: Tennis stars encounter intangible cultural heritage

On Sunday night, the lingering charm of the Mid-Autumn Festival’s full moon was still shining, another dazzling starlight flickered.

Many tennis superstars gathered under the Olympic Tower for the China Open player party. Carlos Alcaraz, Daniil Medvedev, Casper Ruud, Iga Swiatek, Elena Rybakina, Coco Gauff, and Zheng Qinwen, who had just arrived for training at the China Open, were all present at the event.

This year’s red carpet event specially designed the ceramic signature zone, which allowed players to leave their unique imprints at the China Open by signing ceramic plates.

In addition, the 360-degree surround-screen shooting was also a highlight, which allowed players and guests to capture their most beautiful side from multiple angles and dimensions.

At the player party, China’s splendid traditional culture was displayed to the foreign guests.

After watching an introductory video, the guests had the opportunity to have a close look at the the intangible cultural heritage, such as the Beijing silk flower and Beijing swallow kites of the Central Axis as well as coloured opera sculpture and so on.

What’s more, there were live demonstrations by inheritors of these crafts, and each guest could personally experience the ancient and mysterious arts of the Orient under their guidance.

In the darkness of the night, the players were invited to ascend the Olympic Tower. As the elevator slowly ascended, the whole city of Beijing shimmered like a jewel beneath their feet, with various lights intertwining to create a beautiful picture.
