On Sunday, the 2023 China Open women’s singles final will take place at 19:30 at the Diamond Court, featuring a showdown between four-time Grand Slam champion Iga Swiatek and dark horse Liudmila Samsonova.
Swiatek and Samsonova have met twice before, with Swiatek winning both encounters, including a dominant performance in Dubai earlier this year where she only dropped one game.
However, Samsonova’s aggressive style of play, focused on her powerful serves and returns, is one that Swiatek is wary of and adds some suspension to the final.
