Full WTA Top 10 Set Blockbuster Women's Field at China Open

The full slate of the WTA Tour's Top 10 lead the entry list for the 25th edition of the China Open. World No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka and No. 2 Elena Rybakina top this year's entry list, which includes 11 Grand Slam champions and four China Open champions.

Amanda Anisimova enjoyed a dramatic run to her second WTA 1000 title last fall and the American is set to return to Beijing to defend her title. She leads a quartet of former champions that include former World No. 1s Iga Swiatek (2023) and Naomi Osaka (2019), as well as current World No. 3 Coco Gauff (2024).

China's home hopes will be represented by Shenzhen's Wang Xinyu and Tianjin's Zhang Shuai.

Founded in 2004, the China Open is Asia's largest and most prestigious tennis event, hosting the world's best on the ATP and WTA Tours for the largest prize purse in Asia. The women's event is a WTA 1000, one of 10 top-tier mandatory tournament for the WTA Tour.

This year's landmark edition will also feature the reigning Roland Garros champion, 19-year-old Mirra Andreeva, and Wimbledon champion Linda Noskova of Czechia. The 21-year-old Czech laid the groundwork for her Wimbledon breakthrough in Beijing last fall, where she scored two Top 10 wins en route to her first WTA 1000 final.

Rounding out the Grand Slam champions are 2025 Australian Open champion Madison Keys, two-time major champion Barbora Krejcikova, 2017 Roland Garros champion Jelena Ostapenko, and 2021 US Open champion Emma Raducanu.

The National Tennis Center will also host a wide-ranging cadre of fan favorites. World No. 3 Jessica Pegula, 2024 finalist Karolina Muchova, and Ukrainian stars Elina Svitolina and Marta Kostyuk are confirmed to return.

Eleven young players will be making their China Open main-draw debuts this year, including Poland's Maja Chwalinska. The 24-year-old was the Cinderella story of Paris this spring, where she became just the second qualifier to ever make a Grand Slam final.

The initial entry list includes 76 direct acceptances, with No. 79 Alicia Parks as the final entrant. Twelve qualifying spots will be awarded through a two-round qualifying event and eight main-draw wildcards will be awarded at a later date. Main-draw play will be played across 12 days beginning on September 30 and culminating on Sunday, October 11.
