Novak Djokovic is a win away from a seventh China Open title.
The six-time China Open champion advanced to the China Open final after a remarkably physical duel with No. 3 seed Daniil Medvedev. Djokovic was leading 7-5, 5-3, 15-15 when Medvedev was defaulted for hitting a spectator with a ball. The decision improved the 39-year-old Serb's perfect record at the China Open to 33-0.

Djokovic will play for his 102nd career title on Tuesday night, where he will face No. 5 seed Alex de Minaur. The Australian advanced to his second final of the season after Poland's Hubert Hurkacz was forced to retire in the second of their earlier semifinal due to an abductor injury.
