The second day of the 2023 China Open proceeded smoothly as four places in the men’s singles main draw and one spot in the men’s doubles main draw were ultimately determined.
American J.J. Wolf eased past No.1 seed and 2022 Wimbledon men’s doubles champion Max Purcell 6-3, 6-0. German Yannick Hanfmann also secured his place in the main draw with a 6-1, 6-4 win over Serbian Miomir Kecmanovic in just 1 hour and 14 minutes.
It is worth mentioning that all four players who emerged victorious will make their first appearance in the men’s singles main draw of the 2023 China Open.
As to the men’s doubles qualifying, the Austrian pair Alexander Erler and Lucas Miedler upset the Indian pair Anirudh Chandrasekar and Sundar Prashanth 6-4, 6-3, becoming the only qualifying pair to reach the men’s doubles main draw.
